Geyerman's DakotaMainStreet
In 1880 Peter Geyermann left Shakopee, moved the family to Brewster, Minnesota, and opened the Big Store. The cornice above each half of the building is marked P. Geyermann & Son.
In the photo above, the woman (third from right is holding a baby standing in the carriage. I believe that this is my grandfather, Frederick John Geyerman, Sr.
In the photo below... we were located where Harve's Sport Shop is now located on MainStreet in Mitchell, SD. The store next to us, on the left, Toggery, suffered a fire and we received some smoke damage. You can see what kind of crowd showed up. They tell me that there were police stationed at the front and back, and when two women left out the back door, two more were admitted through the front.
